Ok… obviously I’m getting married like a bunch of other people this year, but I’ve decided that I’m sick of sites like The Knot, and thats mostly because it seems like EVERYTHING there is money driven. :-/ Also, it seems like so much of it is focused on the wedding day rather than the marriage itself. Don’t get me wrong, I love weddings as much as any other girl, and some of the stuff on there is really useful, like the budgeting tools and the local vendor search. But other things seem excessive. I want a simple wedding, one that will mark the beginning of mine and JP’s family, and one that will be memorable and fun for the people that we want to share that day with. And in all honesty, for me that doesn’t include spending an extra $200 on monogrammed napkins. Its just not my thing.
